3-27-20: “Don’t Come Down” (By: The Maine); Playlist: Getting Present To MY Life

- Album: Lovely Little Lonely
- Released: 2017
- Genre: Alternative/Indie
Lyrics (How the lyrics resonated with me.)
Here’s to now
And to nothing else
- (Focused on being present to my own life. I had to consider this in order to save myself…my own existence…even despite the “shoulds” of society and family.)
In a crowd
All by yourself
- (Regrettably, I felt alone in my life even with others.)
To the lows and every high
The hellos and the goodbyes
In this moment, I could die with you
Never felt like this feel before
Dizzy, drunk, and beautiful
In this moment, I let go with you
- (How I felt after embarking on seeing SafferMaster in REAL.)
When you are next to me and the music’s loud
Singing ‘Hey Nineteen’ somewhere in the crowd
Yeah we’re up so high
They can’t touch us now
We are thousands of feet from the ground
And won’t come down
We won’t come down
- (Amazing how our dynamic has grown over time that it feels like we are living a dream.)
Yeah, here’s to all
To all this culture’s rules and your pretty things
How dirty, wild, blurry, juvenile
We ain’t got no time for what tomorrow brings
- (Choosing to live in the NOW.)
And the choir sings
To all the lows and every high
The hellos and the goodbyes
In this moment, I could die with you
When you’re next to me and the music’s loud
Singing ‘Hey Nineteen’ somewhere in the crowd
Yeah, we’re up so high
They can’t touch us now
We are thousands of feet from the ground
I won’t come down
We won’t come down
Here’s to now
And to nothin’ else
In the crowd
All by yourself
To the lows and every high
The hellos and the goodbyes
In this moment, I could die with you
Yeah, right here with you
And when you are next to me and the music’s loud
Singing ‘Hey Nineteen’ somewhere in the crowd
Yeah, we’re up so high
They can’t touch us now
We are thousands of feet from the ground
And we’re never going down
To the lows and every high
The hellos and the goodbyes
In this moment, I could die with you
(And we’re never going down)
Never felt like this feel before
Dizzy, drunk, and beautiful
In this moment, I let go with you
(This song came onto my radar at a time when I recognized that I needed to begin living my life for me and in a way I desired. I was already considering leaving my 30-year marriage and looking toward a possibility of finding a partner who aligned and connected to me sexually, emotionally and mentally in a healthy way outside of my prior relationship. I don’t ever want to come down from where @SafferMaster and I are floating off to.)
