Shackled #121 (By: Seductive_Poetry; December 24, 2016)
I’m tied down,
Tethered to a life I don’t want,
Even though I cry inside,
I have to put up a happy front.
I’m strapped down,
Fastened to a hopeless life,
Even though my dreams are gone,
I have to smile in the face of strife,
I’m buckled down,
Bonded to a wasted ubiquity,
Even though I hurt inside,
I have to appear like I’m happy.
I’m locked down,
Shackled to a futureless void,
Even though my life is over,
I have to appear that I’m not destroyed.
