We sampled the following 5 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskeys.
- Old Pulteney Navigator
- Macallan Double Cask Gold Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
- Glenmorangie 14-year
- The Balvenie Single 14-Year Malt Scotch Whiskey
- Glen Fohdry Dublaich Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey
We tasted them both neat and with a couple drops of water added to them. We rated them based on the following 1-5 scale. We assessed them based on aroma, sugars, color and taste.

Nose: seaside ~ salty ~ outdoors
Sugars: fabulous legs ~ very good legs
Color: light color ~ amber
Taste: Easy to drink ~ long finish ~ bold presentation ~ back of throat warmth/lingering ~ fruity ~ forest floor ~ cedar

Nose: floral ~ sweet pea
Taste: smooth ~ long even finish
Macallan Double Cask Gold Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (RATING: 3 Friends with Benefits)
NEAT
Nose: rounder nose ~ fruity ~ desiccated stone fruit
Sugars: lot’s of legs
Color: golden ~ gold coin
Taste: maple syrup ~ higher viscosity ~ short finish ~ does not linger

Nose: oak ~ dry hay
Taste: green flavors ~ short finish
Glenmorangie 14-year (RATING: 4 Deeply Aroused)

Nose: delicate nose ~ floral
Sugars: weak legs
Color: bronze
Taste: fruity ~ medium finish ~ explodes in palate
