Without the benefit of a protocol, there is always the question “did I do that to my Dom’s satisfaction?” The value of a protocol is that the sub – who is service oriented – has confidence in his or her interpretation of the moment, and the Dom can give attention to some other aspect of the dynamic that needs attention.”
